South Korean to complete deliveries of tanks early
Hyundai Rotem expects to complete deliveries of 116 additional K2GF tanks to Poland ahead of schedule, with production continuing at its Changwon plant. Poland’s second K2 contract, worth $6.5 bln, covers 180 tanks and 81 support vehicles, including recovery, engineering, and bridge-laying variants. Of these, 64 tanks will be upgraded to the K2PL configuration, featuring active protection, anti-drone systems, and additional armor, with most assembled in Gliwice. South Korea views the K2 as a high-end tank for decisive operations, while Poland has deployed it in difficult terrain near the Russian border.
A new Korean engine plant is also expected to supply future K2PL vehicles.
