Poles are increasingly buying property in southern Europe as a way to diversify assets and lifestyle options, says Agnieszka Marciniak-Kostrzewa, owner of Agnes Inversiones, the oldest Polish real estate agency on the Costa del Sol. Demand grew strongly after the pandemic, which normalized remote work, and after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, which increased interest in safety and alternatives abroad. Spanish property is no longer seen only as a luxury purchase. Prices start at around €150,000-200,000, while most transactions range from €300,000 to €1 mln.

Buyers often use mortgages, with banks financing 50-60% of the property value. Marciniak-Kostrzewa advises working with a trusted agency and lawyer to avoid mistakes.
