Survey: Polish transport industry unable to negotiate contracts

Poland’s road transport sector is raising the alarm over “contractual violence” — a situation where carriers are forced to sign extremely unfavorable, often illegal contracts imposed by dominant clients. According to a survey by Transport and Logistics Poland (TLP), 95% of transport companies face unfair terms, and 88% have no real influence over contract content.
Carriers are burdened with extra tasks without compensation, and contracts often include penalties, even when delays are the client's fault. TLP warns this leads to legal violations, company bankruptcies, and safety risks. The organization is urging the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and public authorities to take action and plans to promote fair business standards.
