Tamara Łempicka's painting smashes another record
Painting by Tamara Łempicka, the ultimate Art Deco master, which name is Portrait de Marjorie Ferry, was sold at Christie's for a whopping $21.15 million.
Tamara Lempicka was Polish though generally considered a French artist. She was born in Warsaw, Poland, to a Russian Jewish father and a Polish mother, and her first husband (Tadeusz Łempicki) was also Polish.
