The ten largest companies in Russia, including major state-owned banks and Gazprom group, accumulated RUB 7.5 trillion (approx. $116 billion) at the end of 2018, RBK portal announced on Wednesday, citing the data of statistical services and financial reports of these companies.
Amounts collected by companies is the sum of their cash and equivalents held on the company's accounts.
The first places in terms of the number of funds collected among all companies were: the largest state-owned bank - Sberbank and the second financial institution - Gazprombank. They accumulated RUB 2.3 trillion (approx. $35 billion) and RUB 1 trillion ($15 billion), respectively. Another bank, WTB (VTB), came in third with RUB 929.3 billion, or over $14 billion. However, if you do not take into account banks, then the richest company is Gazprom, whose accounts at the end of 2018 were RUB 849.4 billion ($13.2 billion).
