More than 1,100 people from over a dozen countries, including prominent economists, business leaders, and scientists, took part in the 10th European Forum for New Ideas (EFNI) in Sopot, which ended on October 23. The event was organized by the Lewiatan Confederation, in cooperation with BusinessEurope and the City of Sopot.
This year's EFNI was attended by over a hundred accredited journalists and reporters. It gathered 16 media partners and consisted of 60 panels and debates spread over three days in four thematic blocks: "Sensitive technology," "Citizen of the new times," "On time before 2050" and "A new beginning of the old world?."
Although EFNI 2021 was a fully stationary event, some speakers took part in the discussions remotely and participants had the opportunity to follow their speeches — this is a novelty at events of this scale.
The guests of this year's Forum included Paolo Gentiloni (European commissioner for economy), Jan Fischer (former Czech Republic PM), Andrius Kubilius (former PM of Lithuania and MEP), Iveta Radičová (former Slovakia PM), and Christa Schweng (president of the European Economic and Social Committee).
