The European Forum for New Ideas is
one of the largest conferences in this part of the continent, dedicated to
global trends, new ideas and the future of Europe. This year’s edition, titled
#WhatTommorowBrings, will take place between 25th and 27th
of September 2019.
Business representatives, charismatic speakers,
leaders and policy-makers as well as authorities from the world of politics,
culture and science discuss the most important challenges for business and
societies of the changing world, global trends and the future shape of the
European Union during dozens of events, panel discussions, open meetings,
counterpoints and night owl discussions.
EFNI has been organized since 2011 by the Polish
Confederation Lewiatan in cooperation with BusinessEurope and the city of
Sopot.
The idea behind the first edition of EFNI was to
devise a platform for exchanging thoughts and concepts intended to improve the
environment in which we live and carry out business.
“About the changes the modern world is facing we could
write an entire book, but within a year such publication will become
irrelevant. Dialogue is much more effective. That’s why we created EFNI – an
event that gives an opportunity for entrepreneurs, politicians, economists,
NGOs and experts to share their experiences, opinions and collect new data” –
said Henryka Bochniarz, Vice-President of BusinessEurope, Chairwoman of the
General Board of Polish Confederation Lewiatan.
Only by observing trends closely can we react quickly,
proactively and constructively to shape the future of our continent. The
intellectual melting pot of business leaders with participants representing the
world of politics, science, culture, NGOs and the media is intended to inspire
entrepreneurs and make it possible to build a common voice of business in the
debate on the future of Poland and Europe. During the Forum, we look for
answers to new global challenges, discuss changes taking place in the world and
propose constructive solutions. We share knowledge and define new ideas that
are changing Europe, its societies and business. An opportunity for networking
and establishing business relations with representatives of companies from
different countries is created here. We will talk about many important issues
and try to find solutions for various challenges the modern world forces us to
face, including development of artificial intelligence, applying ecological
solutions, sustainable development, competences of the future and changes on
the labor market, and try to find out if we are about to face the end of the
corporations.
Over a thousand recommendations and conclusions from
the discussion held at EFNI had been passed on to the administration of the
European Union, governments of the member states, NGOs and media.
Last year EFNI hosted in Sopot over 1,5 thousand
participants and over 200 panelists, representatives of the world of business,
science, culture and administration, Polish and European alike.
Since it’s conception, the Forum became an important
landmark on the business map of Central Europe gathering the representatives of
international business, government and NGOs. The main topics of the current
edition of the Forum are as follows: Technology and the Future of Employment,
Economy and the Future of the Market, Society and Democracy. The discussions
will engage exquisite panelists including Jerzy Buzek, Chairman of the
EFNI Programme Council, Chair of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy
(ITRE) at the European Parliament; Mikulas Dzurinda, former Prime
Minister of Slovakia; Petro Poroshenko, fromer president of Ukraine, Shada
Islam, Director of Europe and Geopolitics in the Friends of Europe
thinktank; Mai Chen, former Director of the Bank Of New Zealand and
founder of law services My Bucket List and MyAdvice.Legal; Jerzy Kwieciński Minister
of Investment and Economic Development.
For the participants – over 90% of which are C-level
managers – EFNI creates an opportunity to dispute with world-class experts and
decisionmakers.
Join us during EFNI 2019 between 25th and
27th September, and let’s shape together #WhatTommorwBrings.
