I AM CONFIDENT it is going to be a very exciting autumn for business in Poland. Despite that we still have to discuss in our business reviews whether we can avoid further lockdowns later this year, considering only an estimated 50% of the population has been jabbed and the odds are against us, the hopes are high.

Using the positive sentiment while planning content for this issue and autumn, we had fun, excitement and inspiring talks in the editorial room. The consensus: Poland has a strong economy and so many great business stories to tell.

Contacting a careful selection of insightful experts, contributors and writers for interviews and analysis (of the economy, business sector specifics, workforce-related issues, and current status and future estimations) was really fascinating.

In the following pages, Michał Olszewski, Warsaw’s deputy mayor, talks to us about the capital now and 2030, explaining how far we have come since influential English musician David Bowie’s second (and last visit) in 1976. How the ambitions are there for a lot more — to turn Warsaw into a leading global metropolitan. Very inspiring!

Modern business was based on a culture that a company must have an office because people should meet and work together. The company culture was created this way. Covid lockdowns disrupted the “old” assumption and we are now learning and experimenting with what an office is and will be in the future. I had a tête-à-tête with Maciej Gołębiewski from Globalworth, one of the biggest investors in office space in Poland, to learn his thoughts about offices of the future.

Also, in this issue, European logistics titan Raben share their history with us along with their vision for the future, while celebrating their 90th anniversary. (Sto lat!)

We invited several economic pundits to share their insights on the air travel situation, specifically Polish flag carrier LOT, startup climate in the country, e-mobility, and much much more…

I am humbled that we, in this issue, have been able to gather the views of so many revered leaders to form a strong overview of Poland’s situation today and tomorrow.

The Warsaw Business Journal’s vision is to provide to the world Polish stories, opinions of decision-makers and company successes — all in English — that will garner attention and attract more investments to this country. And we’re able to live up to our aim.

I hope you enjoy and appreciate this issue. Should you have any feedback for us, please contact us as we would love to hear from you as always.
