According to Central Statistical Office (GUS), the average employment in the enterprise sector in Warsaw in October 2020 amounted to 1.09 million people and it was by 1,600 people, i.e. by 0.1 percent higher than in September 2020 and by 2,800 people, i.e. 0.3 percent higher than in October 2019.
Compared to September 2020, an increase in average employment was recorded in the following sections: administration and support activities (by 1.5 percent), activities related to culture, entertainment and recreation and industry (0.4 percent each), information and communication (0.3 percent), professional, scientific and technical activities and trade; repair of motor vehicles (0.2 percent each).
On the other hand, the decrease in average employment occurred in the following sections: accommodation and catering (by 2.2 percent), construction (by 0.5 percent), transport and warehouse management (by 0.4 percent), real estate services (by 0.1 percent).
and was by 43 people, i.e. 0.2 percent more than at the end of September 2020 and by 7,013 people, i.e. 40.2 percent more than in the corresponding period of 2019.
The registered unemployment rate was 1.8 percent (as a month ago, and 1.3 percent a year ago), the average in the Mazowieckie voivodship was at the level of 5.1 percent (as a month ago, and 4.3 percent a year ago), while in the country at the level of 6.1 percent (as a month ago, and 5.0 percent the year before).
