US: White House refuses to cooperate in investigating Trump's impeachment

In a letter to the Congress, the White House said that it was refusing any cooperation in investigating the impeachment of President Donald Trump, because - as it emphasized - this procedure has no legal basis and is politically motivated.
At the end of September, the House of Representatives, in which Democrats have the majority, launched an investigation that could lead to the impeachment of Donald Trump. The case concerns suspicions that the president was exerting pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to harm Joe Biden, a potential rival in the presidential election in 2020.
Trump allegedly put pressure on Zelenki, demanding that the country's authorities resume the investigation into the son of Biden, who was employed by the Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings.
