Vice-Prez ING Bank Śląski: Employment in IT segment in banks growing
In the IT sector at ING Bank Śląski, approximately 1500 people worked, making it one of the largest technological teams in Polish banking. Sławomir Soszyński noted a transitional period in IT with short business cycles; any slowdown was considered temporary. IT salaries in banking and tech companies were similar.
Recruitment in IT at the bank continued to grow in response to business needs. Soszyński highlighted various roles within the IT team, including software development, architecture, quality assurance, security, data science, and artificial intelligence.
He predicted a slowdown in wage growth but emphasized Poland's attractiveness for IT services due to remote work opportunities. The competition for talent lay not only with other banks but also with startups and tech companies. Career development, interesting tasks, and a digital, data-driven environment were key factors in retaining employees.
