66% of
Polish students who study at foreign universities declare willingness to return
to Poland after graduation, according to the results of a
survey conducted by the WSE Foundation for the program “Go4Poland – Wybierz
Polskę!” (Choose Poland!). This is a significant number, because OECD
statistics indicate that approximately 50,000
Poles study abroad.
Young people wait for
suitable offers. It appears that they do not prioritize financial conditions.
Instead, they especially appreciate engaging tasks and positions that present
great opportunities for further development. The best way for students to put
themselves to the test on the Polish labor market is to complete summer
internships. According to the WSE Foundation’s survey, as many as 84% of
students are interested in this activity.
According to Anna Salamończyk-Mochel, the President of the
WSE Foundation: “Go4Poland
– Wybierz Polskę!” helps to attract competent candidates to work in companies
and institutions that appreciate the potential of young Poles who study abroad.
Year after year, an increasing number of students become willing to return to
Poland after graduation. It is for these students that we prepare our offer. We
want to present them with the opportunities of the Polish labor market and
encourage employers to benefit from the potential of young Polish graduates of
foreign universities.
Zuzanna Masianis
student of Business, Economics
and Social Sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, intern
at the PFR (Polish Development Fund) Foundation.
I gained
invaluable experience working with the Foundation team on socially relevant
projects, such as Centralny Dom Technologii (the Central House of Technology)
or Uniwersytet Sukcesu (the University of Success). As an intern, I was able to
apply and evaluate my theoretical knowledge in practice and acquire new
abilities.
Michał Ossowski
student of Economics
at the University of Bristol, intern at KUKE S.A.
My internship at a
highly experienced team allowed me to gain specialist knowledge and practical
skills: from comprehensive financial evaluations of enterprises to complex
financial models for project finance transactions. From my very first day at
KUKE, I felt like an equal team member. The working atmosphere was excellent.
The experience I gained during my two-month internship will be a solid
foundation for my further development and future professional challenges.
Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk
Polish Deputy Minister
for Foreign Affairs
The program “Go4Poland
– Wybierz Polskę!” agrees with the missions and goals of diplomatic posts,
which increasingly encourage Polish people to return to their homeland. Poland experiences
rapid economic growth and presents promising professional perspectives for
young people. Poland is a country worth returning to.
Marek Dietl
President of the
Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange
The program “Go4Poland
– Wybierz Polskę!” helps to accelerate the international development of Polish
companies. Within the scope of the program’s activities, we connect Polish
talents who study abroad with our partner companies. The goal is simple: for
students to use their international experience to contribute to the development
of Polish companies, entrepreneurship, and economy.
Michał Stępniewski
Vice-President of the
Management Board of KDPW (the Central Securities Depository of Poland)
Polish students’ experience
from international universities also means the experience of a different work
culture. What they bring to Polish companies and institutions is highly
valuable. Students of foreign universities are brave, ready to take on
challenges, and self-confident. When working in Poland, they can advance their
career faster than in Western Europe countries.
