Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has launched the training program “From cabin crew to captain,” which will help crew members in attaining dreams about professional development through comprehensive support and a detailed work and study schedule. The program is aimed at Wizz Air cabin crew members from Poland, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, the Budapest-based carrier said.
“We are delighted to launch an industry-leading cabin-crew-to-captain program for Wizz flight attendants whose dream is to become pilots. It is an opportunity for them to advance their careers and grow within the company as the airline continues to expand its fleet. We believe that this program will also support gender equality in aviation and its sustainable development,” says Darwin Triggs, head of flight operations at Wizz Air.
The 40-month program is aimed at cabin crew members with little work experience. It gives them the opportunity to obtain a commercial pilot license while remaining an integral part of the Wizz Air team.
