BIMERR is a project involving the extension of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology with tools supporting the process of energy renovation of apartment buildings. This international project, financed from EU funds, is implemented as part of the Horizon 2020 program. An innovative project on a continental scale is entering the testing phase, for which Budimex is responsible in cooperation with the Warsaw City Hall and the Warsaw’s Real Estate Management (ZGN). The first measurements of energy efficiency and planning of thermomodernization scenarios in BIMERR technologies will be carried out in July in a building in Warsaw's Praga.
The building, selected by the City and the ZGN to test new solutions, requires energy improvements. To date, it has been retrofitted with central heating and hot water installations, and also connected to M.S.C. Currently, the first works using the BIMERR technology are underway, aimed at choosing the best thermomodernization scenario for this facility. Tests using innovative technology will have an impact in the future, including on the energy efficiency of the building, and thus - on the amount of thermal energy bills.
