Chmielna Duo certified green
Chmielna Duo, a flagship residential development by BPI Real Estate Poland, has secured a BREEAM “Very Good” certification, underlining its strong sustainability credentials and high construction standards. Located at 108 Chmielna Street in the heart of Warsaw, the project reflects a growing shift toward ESG-driven urban development.
The certification process covered both design and post-construction phases, confirming compliance with environmental, energy, and operational benchmarks. According to the developer, the recognition validates a long-term approach that integrates sustainability with quality architecture and resident comfort.
The scheme comprises two residential buildings offering 243 apartments ranging from 31 to over 105 square metres, alongside six commercial units and underground parking. Its central location—close to Varso Tower, Warsaw Central Station, Złote Tarasy, and the Palace of Culture and Science—positions it among the capital’s most connected addresses.
Chmielna Duo incorporates a range of environmentally focused solutions. These include the use of certified low-carbon concrete, rainwater retention systems for irrigation, and infrastructure supporting low-emission mobility such as bicycle facilities and EV-ready parking spaces. Energy-efficient triple-glazed wooden windows enhance both thermal performance and acoustic comfort, contributing to lower operating costs.
The project also emphasizes green urban integration. A landscaped pedestrian walkway connects Chmielna and Złota streets, aligning with the “15-minute city” model. Residents benefit from extensive greenery, including 48 trees, a planted courtyard, and a rooftop terrace offering panoramic city views.
Part of the Belgian CFE Group, BPI Real Estate Poland has been active in the local market for 15 years, with a portfolio of 15 residential projects. The Chmielna Duo development reflects the company’s ambition to deliver sustainable, high-quality urban living in prime city locations.
