Federation of Polish Real Estate Market Agreement believes bureaucracy overreach is problematic
The Federation for Agreement in the Polish Real Estate Market has strongly criticized proposed government regulations for property managers and real estate agents. It argues that a mandatory Central Register of Property Managers would impose unnecessary costs on more than 300,000 businesses without improving consumer protection.
The federation also opposes a ban on agents collecting commissions from both sides of a transaction. It says the restriction would be easy to bypass through separate self-employed agents and would mainly harm small, one-person businesses. Seller commissions could rise to as much as 6 percent to compensate for lost income.
According to the organization, the proposals would increase bureaucracy, restrict freedom of contract, raise service costs, and fail to address criminal misconduct that should instead be handled by prosecutors and courts.
