Port Łódź, one of Central Poland's largest shopping centres (operated by Ingka Centres, the real estate arm of the IKEA group), is to undergo a significant redesign that will add a new open patio with an iconic staircase as its centrepiece, a reconfigured food court, and 16 new retail units. The renovation signals continued investor confidence in the experiential retail model in Poland even as e-commerce penetration grows — and notably comes on the same day that TikTok Shop's Polish entry was announced. PropertyNews.pl reported the plans today, noting that the project represents a broader industry trend away from conventional enclosed mall formats towards hybrid leisure-and-retail destinations. Poland's retail park sector has been among the most active in Europe, with several new parks also announced this week in Ruda Śląska and Nasielsk.
