Polish Standard of Payments (PSP) recorded 353 million BLIK transactions worth PLN 47 billion over the five years of the payment system. Last year, nearly 9 million users used BLIK.
BLIK has launched in February 2015 thanks to the agreement of six banks. The solution was entirely invented in Poland. The basis for its creation was the IKO application, functioning at PKO Bank Polski. During the five years of BLIK's operation, they have been made available by other institutions and today 95% of mobile banking clients can use it.
The nearest future of BLIK is primarily the availability of contactless payments in Poland and in the world and the development of cooperation with foreign platforms providing payment solutions for global e-commerce players. Thanks to this, the BLIK acceptance network will go significantly beyond Poland.
At the end of 2019, BLIK was available in 476,000 commercial and service outlets with 538,000 payment terminals The service users have also over 20,000 ATMs at their disposal.
