PiS holds back with retail tax

Polish ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party decided to hold back introduction of retail tax despite winning the dispute with the European Commission on this matter in May. Previously, it was expected that the tax may be introduced already in September. "The point is not to provoke Brussels," a government representative told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
Under the scheme, retailers with monthly revenue of over PLN 170 million were to pay higher tax than their smaller competitors.
