Poland racking up debt for mortgage loans up to total PLN 100 bln
In 2025, 174 credit brokerage and lending companies surveyed by Statistics Poland issued loans and credit worth PLN 124.9 bln. Individuals received PLN 112.3 bln, while businesses received PLN 12.6 bln. Mortgages accounted for the largest share of agreements at 48.5%, followed by loans funded from companies’ own resources at 44.7% and cash loans at 5.7%. Online channels represented 33.9% of total lending, while 37.1% was arranged at physical branches.
The surveyed companies employed 17,200 people and operated 1,124 branches and representative offices. Among firms using full accounting, revenue rose 15.6% year over year to PLN 8.0 bln, while net profit totaled PLN 1.28 bln.
