Savills Investment Management (Savills IM), the international real estate investment manager, has announced changes to its ESG team related to the consolidation of its business plans to achieve carbon neutrality. The firm has also released a report with Savills IM's plans to achieve carbon neutrality (Net Zero Carbon Pathway).

The report outlines Savills IM's plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. It also announced a shift to a regenerative business model by 2050, which Savills IM says means trying to restore more resources to the planet and society than their business will consume. The target to achieve carbon neutrality covers all assets held by the firm for more than two years, which equates to 98 percent of Savills IM's global portfolio. This target also applies to all new funds that are created and developed.

As part of the changes, Cathy Keir has been appointed as Senior ESG Manager at Savills IM. In her new role she will support the European investment teams in implementing the ESG objectives and initiatives set out in the Savills IM carbon neutrality report. These activities will enable the firm to deliver on its ambitious plans to become an ESG influencer. Cathy Keir will be based in Savills IM's London office and will be directly supervised by Emily Hamilton, Head of ESG. Prior to joining Savills IM, Cathy worked at BMO Real Estate Partners where she was a Sustainability Analyst.
