Considering the coronavirus pandemic and the growing demand for medical resources and necessary products, Amazon – a Seattle-based e-commerce behemoth – would donate €1 million to help organizations that are combating the Covid-19 disease in Poland, announced the e-commerce giant.
The funds will be allocated to the Polish Red Cross (PCK), TVN Foundation You Are Not Alone (Fundacja TVN Nie Jesteś Sam), the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) and selected organizations operating on a local scale.
Amazon’s donation will fund hospital equipment, including the purchase of tests, protective clothing and specialized equipment. The transfer of funds is one of the many actions taken by Amazon to support its employees, customers and local communities, the company claimed.
Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014. Since then, they have invested over PLN 14 billion in logistics centers, R&D and personnel costs. Amazon has created over 16,000 permanent jobs, according to the firm.
