The Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported that inflation in March 2023 was 16.1%, indicating a slower rate of price growth compared to the record high in February. Prices of goods and services increased by 1.1% compared to the previous month. In March, food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 24% y/y, housing and energy carriers increased by 19.6% y/y, and household equipment and operation increased by 14.4% y/y. Among food products, prices of milk rose by 37.5%, eggs by 37.2%, and sugar by 81.5% y/y. The prices of fuel and energy carriers, especially for fuel and heating energy, rose significantly by 32.4% and 40.7%, respectively.
