The shortfall in Corporate Income Tax (CIT) revenue for the state budget caused by the extension of credit holidays in 2024 is estimated at over PLN 600 million, according to Deputy Finance Minister Jurand Drop during the Public Finance Committee session. Additionally, the Parliamentary Public Finance Committee convened for the first reading of the bill on extending credit holidays in 2024 and changing the rules for granting assistance under the Borrowers Support Fund. Moreover, Tadeusz Białek, President of the Polish Bank Association (ZBP), mentioned a CIT decrease of PLN 3 billion due to last year's credit holidays, affecting the state budget. Marta Kightley from the National Bank of Poland (NBP) remarked that credit holidays are unnecessary and even unadvised in the long run. Deputy Minister Drop estimated the CIT revenue loss for the state budget due to credit holidays in 2024 at PLN 625 million.
