The European Commission has given the green light to the Polish KPO after a very thorough assessment, but the first disbursement of funds will be possible once a new law on disciplinary cases of judges is implemented, EC chief Ursula von der Leyen said on Thursday during a visit to Warsaw.
She visited Poland in connection with the acceptance by the Commission on Wednesday of the Polish National Reconstruction Plan.
Von der Leyen noted that "the European Commission gave the green light to the Polish NIP after a very thorough assessment".
She stressed that almost 43 percent of the Polish plan supports the EU's climate goals.
"It will finance the renovation of hundreds of thousands of buildings. The Polish plan includes €5 billion for the development of renewable energy, the kind that comes from the sun or offshore wind, the use of hydrogen as well," von der Leyen said.
She added that it also planned €7.5 billion for clean mobility, for electric buses and streetcars in Polish cities.
