In Poland and across Europe, interest in heat pumps has decreased significantly in 2024, with sales dropping by 47% compared to the same period in 2023. In Poland, high energy prices and cheaper alternatives like biomass and gas heating are major deterrents. As of 2023, Poland had 560,000 heat pumps installed, but sales in 2024 added only 124,000 units. The Polish government has ambitious goals for 2 million heat pumps by 2030. However, complex regulations, inconsistent certification processes, and bureaucratic hurdles are stifling growth.
Additionally, unfair market practices and limited subsidies for low-income households are worsening the situation, further discouraging investment in heat pumps.
