Poland getting lower in the Corruption Perceptions Index

In the latest Corruption Perceptions Index 2021 report, published annually by Transparency International – an international non-governmental organization working to combat corruption in public life, Poland was ranked 42nd, scoring 56 points out of 100.
The leaderboard has been presented almost invariably for years. Finland has joined Denmark and New Zealand with an impressive 88/100 points. Right after that, with a score of 85/100 points, are Norway, Sweden, and Singapore. Somalia, Syria, and South Sudan close the ranking with 13, 13, and 11 points, respectively. Among the European Union countries, the worst results were recorded by: Romania (45/100), Hungary (43/10), and Bulgaria (42/100).
"Even though the ranking created by Transparency International is about the perception of corruption in the public sector, it should be remembered that the business world is also not free from this phenomenon. More and more talks about changing the methodology of assessing the corruption perception index and including the actions of corporations in it. the organizational culture of business has a significant impact on the nationwide survey result," Marcin Klimczak, a partner in the investigative services and fraud risk management team, PwC, said.
