Energy price freeze extended

Energy prices for individual consumers will remain frozen until the end of 2025, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced ahead of a government meeting.
“Households can sleep soundly—we’ve extended the freeze on electricity prices until the end of the year,” Tusk said. “With market prices falling, this may mean that next year will bring no painful changes for consumers.”
He emphasized that, for now, the government has added several more months to the current freeze, ensuring stability and no unexpected hikes.
Under existing regulations, the maximum electricity price for households is capped at PLN 500 per megawatt-hour. This ceiling, initially set to expire in September 2025, will now remain in place through the end of the year.
The move aims to shield individual consumers from energy market volatility while taking advantage of current downward trends in wholesale electricity prices.
