High inflation, raging exchange rates, high oil prices - compared to last year, vacations in the country became more expensive by 15-20 percent depending on the type of facility and region. Prices are also rising abroad.
"Despite this, according to data collected by industry institutions, as many as 70 percent of Poles declare their willingness to travel against unfavorable conditions," Natalia Jaworska of Noclegi.pl assessed.
"We are already seeing a 47 percent increase in vacation bookings compared to the same period last year. Although it must be admitted that not all types of facilities benefit from this growth. The situation of hotels, to which the congress traffic has not fully returned, nor foreign tourists still cannot recover from the post-pandemic crisis," she added.
However, the main destinations chosen by Poles for vacations in the country do not change. They are traditionally: Zakopane, Kołobrzeg, Gdańsk, Kraków, Władysławowo. The highest costs must be reckoned with in Gdansk, where the average price per night per person has already exceeded PLN 100.
"Less and less restrictions in the world and high prices in the country have made foreign traffic return to normal. At the moment we have an increase in bookings to Croatia by as much as 50 percent. We can also see increased interest in Turkey after the country abolished the passport requirement," Jaworska reported.
There is growing interest in Greece, where the government is lifting the restrictions one by one. We can also see an increase in bookings in Bulgaria and Hungary. On the other hand, the tourist voucher is still convincing people to spend their vacations in the country.
