In Poland, there are increasing challenges related to using cash, particularly during vacations and travels. Banks are reducing the number of ATMs, limiting withdrawal amounts, and imposing higher fees for cash withdrawals, especially from non-affiliated ATMs. Some merchants are also refusing to accept cash. Although Poland has not yet fully banned cash transactions, the European Union has set new regulations, including a ban on cash transactions exceeding €10,000 and increased control over transactions above €3,000.
Despite the legal framework still allowing cash, practical restrictions and fees are making its use more difficult. The growing popularity of digital payment methods, like BLIK, is gradually replacing cash in everyday transactions.
