Workers at the Częstochowa steelworks were due to receive their October wages on November 8, but payment has been delayed due to the bankruptcy administrator running out of funds. The lack of a new leaseholder to take on the wages is also an issue. The reactivation of the steelworks requires an investment of tens of millions of zlotys, which potential lessees fear may not be recouped. While negotiations continue, with Metinvest and Węglokoks as leading candidates, the financial challenges persist.

The bankruptcy has led to unpaid wages and uncertainty, pushing workers to protest. The plant’s reactivation is urgent, especially as winter approaches, risking further damage to the infrastructure if left idle.
