In 2022, Ukraine received $557 million in foreign direct investments (FDI), constituting 7.6% of the previous year's total before the Russian invasion. Switzerland, the UK, and Luxembourg were the top investors, with Poland ranking 8th at $97 million. Notably, 86% of investments concentrated in four Ukrainian regions.
The first two quarters of 2023 saw $2.46 billion in FDI, mainly from reinvested profits, reflecting investor confidence amid limited new investments during the ongoing war. However, the number of announced new projects has declined since the invasion. Key sectors attracting investments include IT, defense, business services, and agri-food, showing potential for future growth post-war.
