Once seen as a modern and flexible work model, the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) strategy is now raising serious concerns due to rising cyber threats and geopolitical tensions. While BYOD offered cost savings and convenience, it compromises IT control and security. Many personal devices lack proper updates, licenses, and protections, exposing firms to cyberattacks—including advanced threats from actors impersonating remote workers. In response, the global BYOD security market grew by 34.1% in 2025.

Experts urge companies to adopt a new mindset: prioritize risk management, invest in training, and enforce stricter policies. While BYOD can still work, centralized control over devices—especially in strategic industries—may be a safer long-term solution.
