Child labor starting at 15 allowable under specific rules

As of June 1, 2025, 14-year-olds in the Czech Republic can legally work, but only during summer vacation (June 28–August 31). Employment requires parental and medical approval, and strict rules apply: no night shifts or overtime, a maximum of 7 hours per day and 35 per week. The minimum wage is CZK 124.40/hour (approx. PLN 21). While young people and their families are eager, employers remain cautious.
In Poland, the minimum working age is 15, with exceptions for younger teens under specific conditions such as vocational training. To work, minors must have completed 8 years of primary school and be medically cleared. Special permissions are required for those under 15 or without completed schooling.
