Interest in life insurance in Poland is on the rise, as more people recognize it as a secure form of investment and long-term savings for retirement. However, the country still lags behind Western Europe in terms of coverage, with many individuals underinsured, according to the Polish Insurance Association (PIU).
In 2024, 23 million people in Poland had life insurance, spending PLN 17.7 billion on policies. Despite a decrease in payouts, primarily due to lower mortality rates after the pandemic, the report emphasizes the importance of life insurance in financial protection, especially in times of difficulty. The PIU has highlighted the need for individuals to ensure their insurance sums are adequate, factoring in liabilities and expected income.
Experts indicate that life insurance remains a growing concern for Poles, with many fearing serious illness or the loss of a loved one, thus contributing to the increasing popularity of life insurance.
