An international conference on the development of high-speed rail in Poland has begun in Łódź, where experts will discuss challenges in implementing these rail systems and their integration with European networks. Announcements indicated that by 2032, a high-speed railway could connect Warsaw and Łódź, with extensions to Wrocław and Poznań by 2034, allowing speeds of 300-320 km/h, potentially reaching 350 km/h.
A 5-kilometer tunnel section will be built in Łódź, with a contractor to be chosen in November. Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak emphasized the need for integration among various stakeholders and accelerating investments, recognizing that Poland is a leader in road development and has ambitious railway plans that align with major road projects.
