Hanna Machińska, Maria Waliczek, Leszek Balcerowicz, Piotr Voelkel, and Sylwia Zadrożna were honored at this year’s Lewiatan Confederation Awards, held during the European Forum for New Ideas.
Maria Waliczek, founder of Farmona, received the Andrzej Wierzbicki Award for her contributions to small and medium-sized businesses, praised for her innovation and ethical approach to business. Piotr Voelkel, founder of VOX Group and SWPS University, was recognized for his significant economic success and contributions to education and culture. The Bold Thinking Award went to Prof. Hanna Machińska, for her dedication to implementing European human rights standards and fighting discrimination.
A Special Award was presented to Prof. Leszek Balcerowicz, credited with leading Poland’s economic transformation after communism, transitioning the country to a free market economy.
Sylwia Zadrożna, journalist at Polish Radio, received the award for setting standards in economic journalism, recognized for making complex economic topics accessible to the public.
