By 2029, Poland's "Clean Air" program aims to replace 3 million inefficient coal-fired furnaces, with PLN 103 billion allocated for the project. However, only 12% of the budget has been spent so far. The World Bank and European Commission suggest that to be effective, 400,000 contracts should be implemented annually, totaling nearly 2.5 million over recent years. As of now, only 772,000 contracts have been completed. In 2023, the average weekly funding applications stood at 4,187, rising to 6,108 by August 2024. While short of the 8,000-per-week goal, the trend is improving, with a potential one million applications by October. Despite temporary funding issues, the program continues to gain momentum.
