Polish Astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski to Return from ISS Mission on July 14

NASA has confirmed that Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski will return to Earth on Monday, July 14, as part of the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4). The Crew Dragon capsule Grace, carrying Uznański-Wiśniewski and the rest of the Ax-4 crew, will undock from the International Space Station (ISS) at 13:05 CET, with live coverage provided by NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX.
The return was delayed by three days due to a “space polar day,” a thermal condition that temporarily prevents safe orientation changes on the ISS. Once undocked, the capsule will initiate maneuvering sequences and await the optimal time for Earth re-entry and splashdown off the coast of California.
After landing, Uznański-Wiśniewski will undergo medical observation and rehabilitation in Cologne, Germany, at the DLR’s Envihab center, under the care of ESA’s space medicine team.
Uznański-Wiśniewski is Poland’s second astronaut after Mirosław Hermaszewski and the first to reach orbit in over four decades, marking a new chapter for Poland’s presence in human spaceflight.
