Two Polish Ports Among Europe’s Top 10 Emerging Logistics Hubs

Gdynia and Szczecin–Świnoujście have been named among the 10 European port cities with the highest growth potential in a new report by industrial real estate investor Accolade. The list highlights locations poised to lead future logistics, supply chain, and industrial investment transformations due to modern infrastructure, strategic positioning, and openness to sustainable development.
Szczecin–Świnoujście, Poland’s second-largest port complex, is expanding its container terminal, deepening fairways, and investing in LNG and intermodal capabilities. Gdynia, which handled a record 975,000 TEU in 2024, is building a deep-water terminal and strengthening integration with rail and road networks. Both benefit from the government’s “Polskie Morze” program, aimed at boosting port infrastructure and green logistics.
“Ports like Gdynia and Szczecin–Świnoujście are entering a critical stage of development. With supportive policies and growing logistics relevance, Poland can become a leader of sustainable logistics in Central and Eastern Europe,” Joanna Sinkiewicz, Managing Director of Accolade Poland, said.
Other cities on the list include Valencia, Rijeka, Genoa, and Porto – each showing promise through infrastructure upgrades and eco-friendly innovations. According to Accolade COO Lukas Repal, future logistics hubs must integrate digitization, green energy, and adaptive real estate to meet new market expectations.
