In May, coal sales in Poland were 3.1 million tons, down from 3.27 million tons in April and 3.32 million tons in May 2023, according to the Industrial Development Agency. Coal production also decreased to 3.3 million tons from 3.49 million tons in April and 3.88 million tons a year ago. Stock levels rose to 5.3 million tons, up from 5.15 million tons in April and 2.46 million tons last year.

Employment in mining remained stable at around 75,600 in May, slightly down from 75,700 in April and up from 75,500 in May 2023.
