February Turnover on the Warsaw Stock Exchange Strongly Up
Equity turnover on the Warsaw Stock Exchange's Main Market (GPW) totaled PLN 27.4 billion in February 2024, up 46 percent from the previous year. Equities turnover on the order book increased by 42.8 percent y/y to PLN 26.6 billion. The average daily value of equity turnover on the order book was PLN 1.27 billion, up 36.0 percent from a year earlier. The WIG index value at the end of February was 81,944.56 points, which was 36.2 percent higher than a year earlier.
On the NewConnect market in February, the total value of equity turnover increased by 34.5 percent y/y to PLN 309.0 million. The value of equity turnover on the order book on the NewConnect market increased by 44.3 percent y/y to PLN 308.8 million.
On the GlobalConnect market, the value of equity turnover in February amounted to PLN 1.8 million, compared to PLN 0.2 million in the same period of the previous year.
