Despite 82 percent of Poles reporting some savings, only 25 percent have enough funds to sustain themselves for over six months if they suddenly lose their income, according to a recent BIG InfoMonitor survey. On average, individuals save 18 percent of their monthly earnings, with half setting aside between 10 percent and 24 percent.

The primary motivations for saving include unexpected expenses (48 percent) and job loss (33 percent). However, in the past six months, one-third of respondents had to dip into their savings for essentials like bills (12 percent), food (11 percent), and healthcare (11 percent).

Additionally, 34 percent of those surveyed resorted to external financial assistance, such as loans, to cover basic needs. In response to rising living costs, 35 percent are considering taking on additional work to improve their financial situation.
