Gender Equality in Business – Can Numbers Make a Difference?

Despite years of promoting workplace gender equality, progress remains slow. The Global Gender Gap Report 2024 predicts it could take 134 years to close the gap. One effective tool is gender analytics – using data to build fairer workplaces.
“Gender analytics is not just about political correctness but business intelligence. Companies ignoring it lose innovation and growth opportunities,” Paula Rejmer, People Lead at SoftServe Poland, said.
A 2023 McKinsey report shows that businesses with high gender diversity in leadership are 39 percent more likely to outperform competitors.
Tracking key metrics like gender ratios, recruitment patterns, career progression, and employee satisfaction can reveal biases and gaps. SoftServe Poland's gender analytics implementation since 2020 increased female representation from 24 percent to 31 percent, with 35 percent of management roles now held by women. Transparent hiring practices and diversity training have also helped break stereotypes and foster a fairer workplace culture.
