GUS: Fewer job vacancies available in Poland, lowest in months

At the end of Q4 2024, Poland had 91,000 job vacancies, a 20.3% quarterly decline and a 6.3% annual drop, according to GUS (Statistics Poland). The job vacancy rate fell to 0.74%. Construction had the highest vacancy rate (1.56%), with a 0.15 percentage point increase y/y, while the information and communication sector saw the biggest drop (-0.44 pp to 1.38%).
Poland had 1.05 million foreign workers as of September 2024, representing 6.8% of total employment. Ukrainians were the largest group (707,900; 67.2%), though their share declined by 6.1 pp since 2022. Nearly 20% of foreign workers resided in Warsaw, while Świętokrzyskie had the lowest share (below 1%).
