In the first half of 2025, the average premium for mandatory car insurance (OC) in Poland rose to nearly PLN 700—a 14% increase y/y, according to Rankomat.pl. The highest premiums were paid in Gdańsk (PLN 963), Wrocław (PLN 944), and Łódź (PLN 882), while the lowest were in the Podkarpackie, Opolskie, and Świętokrzyskie provinces. Across Poland, OC prices rose in all regions, with increases ranging from 12.1% to 15.5%.

Young drivers (e.g., 19-year-olds) paid the most—over PLN 2,600 on average. Premiums also varied by car type, with Skoda being the cheapest to insure and BMW the most expensive. Rising repair costs and average claim payouts are driving further monthly price increases, experts warn.
