Throughout last year, goods exports amounted to €351.02 billion and were at the highest level in history. The trade surplus was also the highest – as stated in an analysis by PFR provided to PAP.
"The increase in exports last year, along with a decrease in imports, resulted in a positive and record-high trade balance for Poland. The surplus in goods trade after twelve months of 2023 amounted to €10.56 billion and was at the highest level in the history of available data," Michał Kolasa, an analyst at the Polish Development Fund, said.
According to data compiled by PFR, the largest share in goods exports in 2023 was held by parts and accessories for motor vehicles. The value of these goods exported in 2023 amounted to €16.74 billion, accounting for 4.77 percent of Polish foreign sales. Electric batteries were in second place, followed by cars and other motor vehicles in third.
