Karolina Malinowska, psychologist, and former model, believes that reading with children will yield long-term benefits. She emphasizes not only reading to young children but also encouraging them to choose books over smartphones or tablets as they grow. While modern technology can be a distraction, Malinowska sees its potential in promoting literacy, such as through personalized publications tailored to individual needs.
"Reading statistics in Poland are not particularly optimistic. The average Pole read about 0.6 books in December last year, but reading is making a comeback and is wonderfully uniting generations. I am very happy about this because reading books together with children not only develops their imagination and teaches them many things but, above all, strengthens family bonds," Malinowska says.
She also underscores that books serve as both entertainment and a source of knowledge, helping children and adults alike to broaden their interests. Stories shape perspectives, enhance sensitivity, and improve communication skills, making reading an invaluable tool for personal development.
