Generation Z is reshaping the way offices look and function. Born between the late 1990s and early 2010s, this digital-native generation enters the workforce with new expectations.

“Gen Z prefers spaces that respect autonomy, promote mental well-being, and reflect aesthetic awareness,” Dominika Ogłoblin, an architect at SAAN studio, said.

While often described as individualists, Gen Z values flexible environments that support both focused work and social connection. Having adapted to remote work during the pandemic, they now expect hybrid options and office spaces designed with inclusivity and neurodiversity in mind.

“Designing workplaces for Gen Z is a creative challenge. Offices should support varied work styles and provide calm, sensory-friendly zones,” Ogłoblin explained.

Human-centered design, with natural colors and reduced stimuli, helps accommodate attention deficits and sensory sensitivities. As companies compete for young talent, adapting office spaces to Gen Z's values – flexibility, inclusion, and design quality – is becoming essential.
