Professor Adam Glapiński, President of the National Bank of Poland, denied accusations from a preliminary motion to hold him accountable before the State Tribunal, calling them baseless. In a video statement, he emphasized that the central bank’s actions under his leadership helped stabilize the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic and reduced inflation from 18.4% to 2.5% by May 2024.
He argued that the motion violates the constitutional principle of central bank independence and criticized its political motivations, urging against actions that undermine state institutions.
